Miki Agrawal Visits the Podcast

During an interview on The Big Silence podcast with Karena Dawn, Agrawal discussed various aspects of her life and entrepreneurial journey. She spoke about her multicultural upbringing, growing up in French Montreal in an Indian and Japanese household, which exposed her to different cultures, opinions, and perspectives. She emphasized the importance of having the freedom to argue and see the world through various lenses.

Agrawal’s entrepreneurial journey began early in her life. She and her twin sister were involved in science fair projects and started their first project at the age of 18, raising money to make a short film called “Soccer Dads.” This early experience gave Agrawal a taste of raising funds, problem-solving, and executing a project.

Starting In Finance

After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Business and Communication, Agrawal worked in finance for Deutsche Bank in New York City. However, the events of 9/11 became a turning point in her life. She survived the tragedy by chance, as she had slept through her alarm that day. This experience made her realize that there was something more meaningful she wanted to pursue.

Agrawal then ventured into restaurant investments and later established THINX, a sustainable underwear company for women, followed by Slice, a gluten-free and farm-to-table pizzeria. Her creative marketing campaigns and ability to dream up innovative ideas became integral to her success.

What’s A Tushy?

One of Miki Agrawal’s notable ventures is Tushy, a bathroom bidet solution aimed at improving hygiene and health worldwide. Inspired by her own health issues and her affinity for bidets, she designed Tushy as a modern bidet that can be easily attached to a toilet in 10 minutes. Tushy utilizes fresh water from the sink to provide cleansing support with every flush. Agrawal referred to it as a “shower for your butt” and emphasized its importance for personal hygiene.

The Importance of Disruption

Throughout the interview, Agrawal highlighted the significance of disruption and seizing opportunities. She discussed relationships, and her openness to pursuing new opportunities as they arise. Throughout her career, Agrawal has been willing to take risks, and she credits this willingness to her successes. Whether disrupting the period industry through innovative and thought-provoking marketing, to aiming to bring a bidet to every American toilet, Miki Agrawal is on a mission to elevate antiquated industries.
